PROJECTS
PROVIDING A RANGE OF PLANNING SERVICES FOR PROJECTS
ACROSS GREATER WELLINGTON
Since our establishment in 2022, we’re proud to have worked on a range of large scale land development projects across Wellington and the Hutt Valley.
OUR PROJECTS
STOCKDEN PLACE, KARORI
NK Planning provided planning services for applications for staged subdivision, various changes to consent conditions and design.
Given the sites proximity to neighbouring properties and open space, and the complex servicing arrangements, a holistic approach to the planning assessment was undertaken which provided great outcomes to the client.
52 Rangiora Avenue, Kaiwharawhara
NK Planning provided planning services to obtain resource consents for a 9 residential unit development at Rangiora Avenue, Kaiwharawhara.
Given the sites visibility to State Highway 2 /Wellington Harbour, and bulk earthworks proposed, careful design considerations were given to building placement/design, and treatment of retaining walls.
150 Riddiford Street, Newtown
NK Planning provided planning evidence in support of an application for the demolition of a building within a heritage area, and the construction of a new four storey building which breached the height plane.
The application was limited notified to neighbouring properties therefore a robust assessment with respect to residential amenity effects and impacts on heritage value was undertaken.
13-15 Garrett Street, Te Aro
NK Planning provided planning services for the preparation of a planning application for alterations and additions to a Central Area building.
The proposed alterations and additions include an increase to the existing 3 storeys to 4, with 5 tenancies over the four storeys created. The site was opposite a prominent park therefore effects on streetscape, open space, and the nearby Cuba Street Heritage Area was required.
62 Middleton Road, Johnsonville
NK Planning provided planning services for the preparation of a planning application for the construction of 42 residential units, bulk earthworks, and construction of a bridge.
A stream ran through the site which added complexity to the development however these complexities were able to be overcome with good design. Intensity effects, onside residential amenity, and impact on neighbours were matters requiring robust assessment through the planning process.
RIVERLINK, HUTT VALLEY
NK Planning provided planning and project management services in the delivery of the RiverLink project, which comprises a project being undertaken in partnership by Waka Kotahi, Hutt City Council, Greater Wellington Regional Council, and Mana Whenua partners.
The project includes the relocation of Melling Station, new interchange and bridges over the Hutt River, significant flood protection works, and urban regeneration.
NK Planning was engaged as the Planning and Property Lead for the IPAA stage of the project providing assessment in the preparation of management plans, value engineering, property acquisition, and providing technical planning expertise to the project partners. Following the IPAA phase, NK Planning provided direct assistance to NZTA as Planning Lead for the Melling Transport Improvements
